We are utterly thrilled to once again be able to offer a Christmas meal to those on their own or in need in someway this Christmas. OPEN DOOR THIS CHRISTMAS WILL LOOK A BIT DIFFERENT:
Every Christmas we provide friendship, hospitality and a cooked Christmas lunch for over 50 guests. Covid-19 means that this year will have to be different, but we would still love to support people in this way as much as possible.
We are grateful to Tina Wren who will lead a team in providing a TAKE-AWAY meal that people will be able to collect at Lunchtime 1pm on Christmas Day. We may also be able to deliver a small number of meals.
Would you like to come or know someone who would like to come? Please keep an eye on this page for more details early next week.
To help Tina we need two things:
Volunteer Help. Please let us know if you are able to help by contacting Tina on email@example.com
Money. Rather than bringing in food as normal, we will need finances instead so we can organise what we need in this more difficult environment. Please give what you can at https://burlington.church/giving Scroll to the form at the bottom of the page and select "Open Door" in the "My donations are for" drop-down box and fill in the rest of the form.
This Saturday the church will be open for our prayer room. A brilliant team have set this up and invite Burlington family members to sign up for 30 minute slots. All the details at Burlington.church/prayerroom
Did you miss our celebration today? You can now watch on you tube or via our webpage. Details in our bio.
It’s tonight! We are excited for the opportunity to worship and listen. Check out Burlington.church/christmas2020 for our zoom codes to join.
Drum roll please......... Here is our Christmas image and theme! The First Christmas took place because people heard God speak and chose to do something about it. Without that there would be no Christmas. Mary, Joseph, the Shepherd, and the Wise Men all became part of the story because they listened and responded to God’s word. And so the light came.
When we LISTEN to what God is saying and LIVE it out in our lives the LIGHT of Jesus shines in the darkness.
We will be unpacking this more in our online celebration this morning- 10.45am with Christmas worship and loads of information about how Christmas will look at Burlington.
Tomorrow we will be launching the Burlington Christmas theme, image and all the details for how we are celebrating this year! Have a read of John 1:1-18 to get a little hint.......
Just a little reminder about our Christmas appeal. Join in this year by supporting FIND.
Yes we know Facebook is for old people (sorry Facebook users) BUT at Burlington it is one of the places where we have a closed community group and we stream our celebrations. It’s been a useful tool for this season so if you don’t follow us we’d love you to connect there. Burlingtonips is the name. Come find us!
What a great morning. We love this photo from @pop_spw who runs Yarnweh - a community who create beautiful knitted and sewn things together. They meet online before our celebration and then worship together using our livestream. It looks like they are beginning to get in the Christmas mood! Check out webpage for all the info on how you can join in at Burlington.
