What a great morning. We love this photo from @pop_spw who runs Yarnweh - a community who create beautiful knitted and sewn things together. They meet online before our celebration and then worship together using our livestream. It looks like they are beginning to get in the Christmas mood! Check out webpage for all the info on how you can join in at Burlington. Today two (due to covid restrictions) of our youth team are prayer walking round some of the schools. Please join them today from wherever you all praying for teachers, young people, children and all those making decisions on behalf of our young. Pray for wisdom and for all you know. Do get in touch if we can pray for any of your young people, children or schools specifically. Dm us or send to prayer@burlington.church Our young people have been working on a secret project- operation poppies happened today. They’ve been praying for some of the members of our community and they delivered cards and chocolate today. Well done eternity youth and Sarah our youth leader. Tune in next Sunday for more about the project. Today we stood on our doorsteps with our neighbours and remembered. And then we prayed- For our world, for each other and for ourselves. God is faithful, God is sovereign and as he done through the ages we know he will bring hope and healing to all who call on his name. #wewillrememberthem This morning at 10.45am our online celebration will include an act of remembrance. We will make space at 11am for you to go out and stand on your doorstep with your neighbours. #wewillrememberthem #silence As bright fireworks light up the sky we are reminded that you are the true light in this dark world.
Thank you that your light shines brightly and no darkness will ever put it out.

So we pray tonight for our family, friends and neighbours that your light will light up their lives.
May that light shine brightly in the lives and homes of all those that we know and love.

As these sparklers light up our faces may our faces always be glowing with the love and brightness of Jesus.
And may we sparkle his love in the streets where we live.
Amen This Sunday we will be sharing our act of remembrance online (www.Burlington.church/facebooklive) and with our neighbours. We hope you can join us at 10.45am Burlington’s @form_ipswich interns made up and delivered over 35 bags of hope to our children and their friends. We’ve loved receiving the pictures of kids making their lanterns. Keep them coming. Tomorrow 1st November we continue as normal with word and prayer at 9.30am and our online celebration at 10.45am. Kids church will continue at 10am online. You will need bread/wine/juice for communion at the online.
In the weeks ahead all our online gatherings will continue but (awaiting confirmation) we imagine that all physical gatherings may need to stop.
Please continue to pray for all who lead: political leaders, council leaders and others who will be making tough decisions right now. Please also pray for our whole church family, including our new trustees as we journey together through this difficult season. Like many of us with organisations or businesses to run we will await to see what the PM’s latest announcement means for us. For now, please know God is with us and now is the time for us to show Love, extreme kindness and care for each other, our friends, our neighbours and our church family. Let’s raise the kindness stakes and be defined by these things! Every year many of Burlington’s family commit to pray for an hour throughout the 31st October. We believe that Jesus cake into the world to bring light in the darkness. So today we celebrate Jesus and call on him to bring hope, peace, joy and love into our dark world. One of the lockdown challenges our young people have risen to is to read the bible more. @jacobkite_

Jacob’s bible plan for the young people is coming to an end. He has done a survey to discover where improvements can be made with overwhelmingly positive results. 91% of the young people who took part felt it helped them get deeper into the Bible. 100% said they would do something similar again. Jacob is now planning what we will do next and even considering a bigger challenge for during the Daniel fast in January. Form were busy this week litter picking and praying for our neighbourhood.
